Even as a teenager, I wanted to work for a better world. I protested with action postcards against the deaths of dolphins and other sea creatures in the dragnets of industrial fishing. At the time, I felt like a little heroine and firmly believed that, together with other animal lovers, I could save the lives of many sea creatures.

Today, after intensive research for the GEOlaViva recommendations, I see things in a more differentiated way.

Nevertheless, I am still convinced that we as a community can achieve great things for a fairer world and a future worth living. With GEOlaViva - Together for Solutions, I want to make visible the actions of people who show us through their commitment and dedication that change is possible. Whether they are active for NGOs, foundations, associations, citizens' initiatives, the media or as individuals - these people inspire not only through their actions, but also through their ability to inspire others. They give me the feeling that I am not alone in my desire for more justice and the strength to continue to believe that together we can create a future worth living.

GEOlaViva - Together for Solutions is intended to show all those who feel discouraged or desperate due to the daily negative headlines: Every step towards positive change counts.

I would especially like to reach out to young people, animal lovers and people in the global South.
